ADINA PINTILIE — FESTIVAL CO-FOUNDER

Adina Pintilie is the co-founder and international partnerships consultant of Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival BIEFF. A graduate of the National University of Theatre and Film Bucharest, filmmaker and curator Pintilie works on the boundary between fiction, reality and visual art. In the new Romanian cinema landscape, her body of work stands out through a highly personal visual style, daring cinematic experimentation and an uncompromising exploration of human psychology. Her first feature TOUCH ME NOT won the Golden Bear and the GFWW First Feature Award at Berlinale 2018, followed by an extensive festival circuit and cinema distribution in more than 35 countries. The film was also nominated for the European Discovery 2018 – Prix FIPRESCI at the European Film Awards, selected in major international festivals: Toronto, Karlovy Vary, BFI London, Viennale, Sarajevo, Sydney, Seville, Jerusalem, Moscow, Thessaloniki etc. and screened in cultural venues such as MOMA Museum of Modern Art New York and ICA Institute of Contemporary Arts London. Adina Pintilie’s medium length DON’T GET ME WRONG premiered in Locarno 2007 - Filmmakers of the Present Competition, won the Golden Dove Award at Dok Leipzig and screened in 50 international festivals such as: Thessaloniki, Montpellier, Trieste, Namur, Munchen, Moscow, Sarajevo, Warsaw, Krakow etc.
Her medium length OXYGEN premiered in Rotterdam Tiger Awards Shorts Competition 2010, screened in BAFICI, Montpellier, Thessaloniki, Tampere etc. Her short DIARY#2 won the ZONTA Award at Oberhausen International Short Film Festival 2013, while her previous short SANDPIT#186 (co-directed with George Chiper) premiered in Locarno 2008 and won the Runner Up Award at Miami Film Festival 2009.
FLAVIA DIMA — ASSOCIATE CURATOR
Working as a film critic since 2015, Flavia Dima is an alumn of the Center for Excellence in Image Studies, with a masters’ thesis on Romanian Queer Cinema, and of international programmes such as Berlinale Talents (2018), Locarno Critics Academy (2018), Sarejevo Talents (2017) and Warsaw FIPRESCI Young Critics Project (2016). She is a collaborator of Films in Frame, FILM MENU and Acoperișul de Sticlă, and her texts have been published in outlets such as MUBI Notebook, Reverse Shot, Kinoscope and Scena9. She has an ample experience working for various local festivals such as TIFF and NexT, and was the lead programmer of the Filmul de Piatra national short film festival between 2017 and 2019.
OANA GHERA — ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Oana Ghera studied film criticism and screenwriting at the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest. During her studies she was a contributing editor for Film Menu and she participated in international programs dedicated to film critics such as Sarajevo Talents (2014), Nest Film Students, during the 2014 edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival, as well as in the young jury of the Giornate degli Autori section of the Venice International Film Festival.
Her professional activities include curatorship, film education and cultural management, with cinema and audiovisual art as her primary interest. She was the co-programmer of the NexT International Film Festival, coordinator of two film education programs - Education à l’image (2015-2018) and One World Romania at School (2018-2020) – and starting 2019 she coordinates the activity of the cultural association Bloc Zero, which she co-founded.
